In a June 2020 survey conducted among adults in the United States, it was found that 42 percent of responding Democrats felt their racial and ethnic background was represented a lot by advertising material. Independents and Republicans were less likely to consider their racial background represented, with 34 percent of each group having seen someone who looks like them in adverts a lot.
