According to a 2023 study, ** percent of Black audiences in the United States were more inclined to watch shows featuring lead actors of the same ethnic group. Similarly, ** percent of white individuals and ** percent of Asian audiences expressed a preference for shows with leads of the same race. In contrast, the share of Hispanic viewers was notably lower, standing at just ** percent.
