The survey sample comprises 717 data points collected from fintech firms operating across multiple jurisdictions, as a single firm may have subsidiaries in different regions. In total, 240 fintech companies were surveyed across six key retail-facing business verticals - digital lending, digital capital raising, digital payments, digital banking and savings, insurtech, and wealthtech - and six geographic regions: Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, Middle East and North Africa, the U.S. and Canada, and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Citation formats

In 2024, AI-enabled customer communication channels represented the most widely implemented AI application in the global fintech sector, with ** percent of surveyed firms adopting AI in this aspect of customer service. This contributed to customer service overall emerging as the leading area of AI adoption among fintechs. Automation of administrative tasks and processes, along with fraud detection, followed closely, with nearly ** percent of respondents reporting adoption in these areas. Automated reporting, AI-driven data analytics, and decision-making also saw adoption rates exceeding ** percent.
