The source adds the following information: Respondents were banking and capital markets CEOs across commercial banking, capital markets and investment banking, retail banking, and multi-segment organizations spanning retail, commercial, and investment banking. All led companies with annual revenues above 500 million U.S. dollars, and one-third worked at firms generating more than 10 billion U.S. dollars annually. The wider survey covered CEOs in 11 markets (Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Spain, the UK, and the US) and 12 industry sectors.
Banks’ AI spend plans in 2025 were clustering in the mid-range, suggesting many leaders see AI as a material but not dominant budget line over the coming year. In a January 2026 survey, ** percent of banking CEOs said AI would account for between ** and ** percent of their budget in the next 12 months. Another ** percent expected ** to ** percent, while just two percent anticipated ** to ** percent. Meanwhile, ** percent planned to allocate less than ** percent.
