Trust seems to play a large role for American TikTok users when considering to purchase something on TikTok Shop. A 2024 survey reveals that a lack of trusting TikTok with payment information was the leading reason for users of the social media platform not to purchase something on the in-app shop.

When looking at TikTok's global user spread, the U.S. is even revealed as the country with the highest number of users of the platform.
