According to a survey conducted in Brazil in 2025, close to half – ** percent – of internet users surveyed in Brazil and aged 55 years and over said they accessed news on WhatsApp. The same was true for Brazilians aged 45 to 54 years, with a share of ** percent. Usage was lowest among respondents from the 25-34 age group. The reliance on Facebook as a news source in Brazil was also lower among younger age groups.
