During a survey carried out in Brazil in March 2022, approximately ** percent of respondents said mobile messaging apps should be suspended if they disobeyed a court order to avoid fake news. Around ** percent of the interviewees disagreed. Half a year earlier, over out of four respondents stated that the spread of fake news on politicians and the Supreme Court justices threatened democracy in Brazil.
