Advertising in Russia - statistics & facts
Russia has the largest advertising market in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), with an expenditure of 9.4 billion U.S. dollars in 2023. The past decade saw a rise in digital advertising. Spending on online ads surpassed television commercials in 2018 and has continued to grow even during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The war in Ukraine had a dramatic impact on the advertising industry, as numerous Western brands suspended investment and marketing activities in Russia. As a result, Russia's advertising spending shrank by more than 10 percent in 2022.
