According to a Chinese consumer survey conducted by in June 2024, about ** percent of respondents who did not pay on any subscription-video-on-demand (SVOD) platforms accessed to such services through accounts of their family or acquaintances. High subscription costs and free or cheaper channels to access to the desired shows were the most common reasons not to pay for SVOD services.
