On Sunday, May 31, 2026, the first round of the presidential elections will be held in Colombia. According to the latest poll, Iván Cepeda is leading the race with 44.3 percent of voting intentions. Cepeda is the political heir of President Gustavo Petro and the official candidate of the Historic Pact coalition.
However, if no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote on May 31, a second-round runoff between the top two finishers will take place in June.Â
