In 2020, advertising spending in cinema was approximately *** million euros in Spain. This figure, a historic low, reflected the crisis the industry was going through as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. During much of the second quarter of 2020, movie theaters were closed to the public, and when they finally reopened, it was with strict capacity limitations. However, the following year, with the new normal increasingly established, advertising investment increased by nearly million, and in 2022 there was an increase of more than million. This trend did not continue in 2023, but it did in 2024. Specifically, investment in this type of advertising increased by nearly million compared to 2023, reaching **** million euros by the end of the year.
