According to a survey conducted in June 2024, 46 percent of TikTok accounts with over one million followers post sponsored content, while only seven percent of such accounts share political content. While 20 percent of small accounts post promotional content, and 11 percent of such accounts share videos related to news or politics. Overall, promotional content was more common than political content for creators on TikTok, irrespective of account size.
