The Netherlands and Spain have consistently been the biggest exporters of food, drinks, and tobacco in the European Union over the period since 2002, while Germany has been the largest importer. As of 2024, the Netherlands continues to lead with an export value of 37,383 million euros, followed by Spain with 15,709.2 million euros. The Netherlands remains a powerhouse of European agriculture, being famous for its highly mechanized and efficient farms producing food products which are exported throughout the rest of the European Union.
