During the first quarter of 2024, the United Kingdom exported approximately 213.2 billion British pounds worth of goods and services, with imports into the UK amounting to 217.2 billion pounds. Due to the UK importing more than it exported, the UK had a trade deficit in this quarter of just over four billion pounds. Although the UK had a trade surplus of more than 38 billion pounds for services, it had a large goods trade deficit of 42.2 billion pounds in the same quarter, resulting in the negative balance of trade overall.
