Facebook’s entry into India was marked by the opening of its first office in Hyderabad in 2010, four years after its online launch. Today, the country is one of its largest markets with the highest number of Facebook and Instagram users in the world. Out of its Family of Apps, Facebook holds the largest share of the Indian social media market, followed by Instagram. However, it is the instant messaging platform, WhatsApp, that tops the charts as the most-used social media app in the country.
