On April 13, 2025, Daniel Noboa (ADN) and Luisa González (RC-RETO) faced off again at the polls to compete for the presidency of Ecuador until 2029. Noboa's overwhelming victory has raised suspicions among the correÃstas, who do not recognize the win and demand a recount of the votes—alleging possible electoral fraud based on the technical ties obtained between Noboa and González in the polls closest to the runoff and the close results of the first round of the presidential elections on February 9.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time both candidates have faced each other in a similar scenario. Just 15 months earlier, on October 15, 2023, Noboa managed to defeat GarcÃa at the polls and become the youngest president in the country's history, albeit only to complete the term of his predecessor, Guillermo Lasso.
