This statistic is based on the annual EU survey on the use of Information and Communication Technologies in households and individuals. Data are collected on a yearly basis by the National Statistical Institutes and are based on Eurostat's annual model questionnaire.Â
Data refers to the share of individuals who used the internet for internet banking within the last three months before the survey. Internet banking includes electronic transactions with a bank for payment and similar activities, or for looking up account information.Â

Online banking penetration in the EU 2007-2025, by age
From 2007 to 2025, the largest share of individuals using online banking services in the European Union (EU) were between 25 and 34 years old. In 2025, over 83 percent of people in this age group used online banking services, followed by over 81 percent of people between the ages of 35 and 44 years. The lowest share of individuals making use of online banking services were those between the ages of 65 and 74 years, at just above ** percent.
