As of April 2023, ** percent of Generation Z adults in the United States had heard nothing at all about Section 2023, a legal provision that protects tech companies from being held liable for content posted by users of their online services. Overall, just percent of Gen Z adults in the U.S. had a lot of awareness about the legal policy. Awareness amongst Millennials was slightly higher. Although Section *** protects tech companies to an extent, tech firms are, however, required to remove illegal or harmful content from their platforms once it is found.
