An online survey conducted in the United States in April 2022, found that ** percent of emoji users had received an emoji that they felt did not match the emotion the person was trying to convey. Overall, three-quarters of Generation Z users had used emojis differently than their intended meaning, and half of millennial respondents said they had sent an emoji that they later regretted sending.
