As of early 2026, ** percent of financial institutions reported that AI had increased or significantly increased their overall profitability, while ** percent reported no change and ** percent were unsure. Notably, just one firm in the sample reported a decrease in profitability attributed to AI adoption, suggesting that while the upside of AI investment varies considerably, the downside risk appears limited.
