All led companies with annual revenues above 500 million U.S. dollars, and one-third worked at firms generating more than 10 billion U.S. dollars annually. The wider survey covered CEOs in 11 markets (Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Spain, the UK, and the US) and 12 industry sectors.
In 2025, AI payback timelines in banking skewed toward the medium term, with most leaders expecting returns within a few years rather than immediately. In a 2025 survey, ** percent of respondents said they anticipate a return on investment from AI implementation in *** to three years. Another ** percent expect payback in six months to *** year, while **** percent put it at to five years. Only **** percent said it would take more than five years.Â
