According to the results of a survey held in late 2024 in the United States, over ** percent of responding adults aged 65 years or above expressed little or no confidence in their ability to spot a news story written by AI versus content written by a human. Adults aged 18 to 44 were the most confident in their ability to recognize AI-written news, but still only around ** percent said they felt very confident in this respect.
