According to a survey on the status of truck drivers in India, unhealthy or unhygienic food was stated to be the leading cause of health issues by truck drivers in 2020. The drivers reported that it was very difficult to carry home cooked food as it takes several days to deliver consignments. The city of Kanpur recorded the highest number of drivers who cooked meals for themselves while on the road.
