A majority of truck drivers were dissatisfied with their professions according to a survey on the status of truck drivers in India in 2020. This was highest in Mumbai at ** percent, and lowest in Chennai, at *** percent.
While the pros include easy money and lack of educational qualifications needed for the job, the unscheduled work hours and unsafe highways were major setbacks listed by some drivers during the survey period.
