According to a survey on the status of truck drivers in India, majority of the truck drivers stated that they rarely overloaded their vehicles as of February 2020. The trucks were always overloaded by over ** percent of truck drivers from the city of Ahmedabad. Opportunity to earn extra money and lack of fear of paying fines for breaking rules motivated the truck drivers to overload their vehicles during their trip across the south Asian country.
