According to a survey of 10 countries in 2024, the majority of older adults over the age of 65 did not have a written plan or document about their end-of-life healthcare treatment wishes. About two-thirds of elderly people in Germany did, while only 6.4 percent of Swedish seniors have written end-of-life health plans.
