According to a survey of 10 countries in 2024, nearly a quarter of older adults in Switzerland reported being severely or somewhat limited in everyday activities such as feeding themselves or using the bathroom or toilet. Comparatively, older adults surveyed in the U.S., New Zealand, and Australia were less limited in activities of daily living (ADLs).
