According to a survey conducted in the U.S. in 2024, 63 percent of news influencers without ties to news organizations earned money through various monetization methods. In contrast, only 46 percent of influencers affiliated with a news organization reported doing the same. Subscriptions were the most common source of income for unaffiliated influencers, with 52 percent using this method, compared to 42 percent of those with news industry experience.
