聽According to the source, news influencers are defined as 鈥減eople who regularly post about current events and civic issues on social media.鈥 In addition, only people, and not institutions, were considered. 鈥淩ight-leaning鈥 includes those who said they are conservative or lean conservative; 鈥渓eft-leaning鈥 includes those who said they are liberal or lean liberal; 鈥渙ther鈥 includes those who said they are moderate, don鈥檛 think of themselves in political terms, or volunteered another response.

As of August 2024, a majority of news influencers in the United States stated a clear political leaning. The survey found that ** percent considered themselves left-leaning, while ** percent aligned with right-leaning politics. Meanwhile,聽** percent of respondents did not identify with any specific political orientation.
