According to a survey conducted in 2024 in Italy, among individuals purchasing lactose-free food, **** percent of respondents aged 18 to 24 reported being intolerant to lactose, while the percentage was lower at *** percent among respondents 65 years old and over. When it came to those buying lactose-free products despite not having any intolerance, ** percent of consumers aged 25 to 34 fell into this category, whereas the corresponding figure for those 65 years old and over was **** percent.
