In traditional Brazilian cuisine, regional specialties, and local ingredients often have a significant influence in shaping food choices. In a country famous for its barbecues and steakhouses, meat is not the only focus, as Brazilians also typically prioritize fresh produce, grains, and dairy products when shopping for food. Although the food industry in Brazil has experienced growth over the past decade, the cost of living has risen sharply due to inflation, impacting the price of food and drink. While the situation had improved in 2023, compared to 2022, 2024 saw another rise, and around half of Brazilian consumers still anticipated spending more on groceries.
