Data for October 2023 includes the period after the start of the war from, October 7 to October 30, 2023.

In the three weeks after the start of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7 2023, 977,000 employees in Israel were absent from work. Of these, almost 36 percent were absent due to hindrances in the normal function of their workplace. Approximately 45 percent missed work due to other undefined war-related reasons. Finally, 179,000 workers could not attend work following their mobilization as reserve soldiers in the army. Overall, the outbreak of war led to a drastic increase in employee absenteeism.
