Reference to high-tech employee is defined based on recommendations of the Committee for Increasing the Human Capital in High-Tech (鈥淭he Perlmutter Committee鈥) i.e., workers aged 25-64 in the technology sector, excluding the communications sector.

Annual tech sector employment figures in Israel 2015-2023
In 2023, the total number of the workers employed in the Israeli technology industry reached almost 400,000. Tech companies in the country added just over 10,000 workers that year. This accounts for an over 70 percent drop in new hiring compared to 2022. Growth in tech employment in 2023 was impacted by the politically controversial government judicial reform and the outbreak of war in Gaza, among other global factors.
