In the first quarter of 2025, the total value of credit card transactions in Israel amounted to over 136.1 billion Israeli shekels, around 39.8 billion U.S. dollars. This represents a 9.5 percent increase in credit card spending from the first quarter of 2024. Following the start of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7th 2023, credit card transactions fell sharply. This was accompanied by a significant decline in consumer confidence.
