A March 2022 survey found that approximately a third of self-claimed metaverse users in the United States had entered the metaverse because they had seen a lot about it in the media and wanted to try it. Also, 18 percent of respondents from the United States stated that they needed to use the metaverse for their work. This also applied to 16 percent of metaverse users from the UK.
