A survey conducted in March 2022 in the United States found that 16 percent of responding online users were very interested in creating an avatar for the metaverse, and 25 percent said they were somewhat interested. Overall, 44 percent of those asked reported they were not at all interested in the idea. Gen Z and Millennials were most likely to be interested in creating an avatar to represent them in the metaverse, whilst those from the Baby Boomer generation were by far the least interested in doing so.
