An online study conducted in the United States in March 2022 found that awareness of the metaverse was highest among adults with an annual income of over 100 thousand U.S. dollars. One in five people belonging to this income bracket said they had heard a lot about the virtual reality environment. Overall, just eight percent of those who earned under 50 thousand U.S. dollars per year said they had heard a lot about the metaverse, and 44 percent said they had heard nothing at all.
