In March 2020, the overall revenue from retail trade in Finland declined as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In January and February, the retail trade revenue increased in all sectors compared to the previous year, but in the following month only grocery stores, hardware, and home technology sales continued to grow. Clothing and footwear, sportswear, and department store sales were hit the hardest by the COVID-19 outbreak in March.
