Russia has one of the major e-commerce markets worldwide and is among the countries with the largest share of retail sales taking place online. Despite a 37-percent decline in revenue due to the exodus of Western e-tailers in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the industry is projected to experience enhanced growth in the following years. While online retail remains the highest-earning e-commerce segment, fintech, digital services, and online travel are also widely used by Russian consumers.
