A 2026 survey found that in the United States, both local and national news were similarly popular types of news sources used by people across all age groups to verify facts. Independent creators have gained credibility, especially among Americans between the ages of 18 and 64 years. AI chatbots were used by 17 percent of teenagers, almost to the same extent as independent creators.
