A 2026 survey conducted in the United States found that roughly 59 percent of U.S. adults aged 65 years or over said they saw information they believed to be false or misleading every day, compared to only 30 percent of respondents aged 18 to 29 years old. Younger respondents were also marginally more likely to say that they were not sure if they had seen false information or not.
