According to an opinion survey conducted in Colombia in April 2022, more than 40 percent of the respondents stated that corruption is the country's main problem. Poverty and hunger were the second most mentioned issue by the respondents, with 27.7 percent of the total. The problem is justified, as departments such as Bucaramanga, Bogotá, Popayán, and Tunja recorded more than 175,000 people living in extreme poverty.
