As of the second quarter of 2023, single-player games were the overall most popular mode of gameplay across age groups. Three-quarters of gamers aged 55 years and above preferred single-player games, as did 65 percent of respondents between 45 and 54 years. Single-player games were also the most popular category of video games for those aged between 25 and 44 years. In contrast, younger generations preferred online player-versus-player (PVP) games. Generally, player-versus-environment (PVE) games were the least popular gameplay mode across age groups.
