A January 2024 survey conducted among gamers in the United Kingdom found that up to 83 percent of racing gamers played video games to relax and wind down, compared to 69 percent of gamers in general. A higher proportion of racing gamers also reported playing video games to pass the time, to escape reality, and to complete challenges and puzzles. In contrast, a slightly higher share of gamers in general reported playing out of habit than racing gamers.
