An online survey was launched in October 2023 and was answered by 2,065 respondents, of which 1,919 were filled out by non-BEV drivers and 146 by BEV drivers in Germany. The survey closed in November 2023 after being open for one month for non-BEV drivers. As BEV drivers were harder to reach, their survey remained open until February 2024.

Based on a survey conducted in Germany in 2023 and 2024, German BEV drivers prefer to recharge their BEVs at a private recharging station or wallbox at home most frequently. ** percent of BEV drivers use these charging locations daily or multiple times a week. On the other hand, semi-public recharging stations and normal household sockets at home are the least popular charging location options for German BEV drivers.
