The digital intensity of large companies in the European Union is at a relatively high level in most member states, with a few notable exceptions. Digital intensity measures the availability of digital technologies such as internet access, high-speed broadband, recourse to ICT specialists, among other things, at the company level. The Nordic member states of the EU, Finland, Denmark, and Sweden, are the leaders in terms of digital intensity, with almost ** large companies in Finland having very low digital intensity in the workplace. 

On the other end of the spectrum are some Eastern and Southern EU member states such as Bulgaria, Romania, and Greece that report around ** percent of their large firms having low or very digital intensity in their workplaces. On average, over ** percent of EU companies have high digital intensity as of 2024.
