In 2022, 52 percent of American Gen Z stated that a major reason for the rarity of their visits to movie theaters is due to preferring to stream at home. About a quarter (24 percent) stated that is is a minor reason, while a similar share did not indicate a preference to stream as a reason for them not visiting movie theaters.
