The industry forecast is based on sector 59.1 of the industry branch classification of the Statistisches Bundesamt. This sector includes the production of films, including video and DVD recordings, for direct screenings (e.g. in cinemas) or for television shows; supporting activities like film montage, film editing and the addition of subtitles etc; distribution and sales of films to other industry branches, as well as the screening of films. The selling and purchasing of film copyrights is also included.
