A March 2024 survey among adults in the United States found that around half of those who make in-game purchases of virtual goods were also interested in different ownership options for this type of content. Despite the technical barrier of implementation, 43 percent of respondents were interested in the transfer of virtual goods acquired in one game to use in other games. Overall, around half of gaming spenders in the United States were satisfied with their in-game purchases regardless of the gaming platform.
