A survey conducted in September 2021 asked TV subscribers in the U.S. what they primary method was for accessing different types of TV content. Over half of respondents said that, when viewing local news programs, they primarily used cable/satellite. In contrast, the majority of favorite TV show viewers used streaming services to watch this kind of content. When it came to national news programming and professional sports, however, most of respondents indicated that they used cable/satellite TV.
